Samsung confirms more of its upcoming smartphones will ship without chargers, earphones

Samsung has made a number of changes to its mobile range this year. Most notably, it introduced the S Pen to the S range, but something that deserves to be highlighted is the omission of a retail kit charger for its new flagships: Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra.

It seems like these updates will be applied to other Galaxy products, and we're not just talking about introducing the S Pen to more smartphones and tablets. Apparently, Samsung is planning to ship more of its new smartphones without a battery.

In a statement published earlier this week, Samsung's TM Roh reported that his company is aiming to eventually withdraw not only chargers but also earphones from retail packaging on their smartphones.

We agree that the incremental elimination of adapter plugs and earphones from our in-box smartphone packaging will help resolve sustainable usage problems and alleviate the anxiety that customers can experience that they are continuously getting needless charger devices for new phones.

On the bright side, South Korea will be releasing at least two fast wireless chargers in the coming weeks. Although chargers are obviously a must for mobile owners, earphones are more of a perk that marketers are bringing in to make packaging more enticing. It looks like from this year, Samsung fans would have to buy both separately if they need it.
